Welcome to PsyZoo Comics,

I always wanted to do a comic strip series. However I did not have defined characters in mind to start with. So I started creating a few quick strips, just for fun and without even using any characters, in order to spark a "normal" comic strip creation process. To my surprise, and backed by many positive feedbacks (apart from my regular encouraging family and friends), I found that creating comic strips without any characters could in fact work out and be funny.

Do not be fooled however, the visual emptiness of these first comic strips doesn't mean that there isn't a concept that drives the series. For now, it is setup like a TV studio production stage where a comic strip maker and his geeky assistant are struggling to put on a real show. It may be staged differently as the series evolve over time.

If you can get a hold of some very first published comic strips from world popular series like Peanuts, Garfield and Dilbert, you would see that they certainly did not initially have the polished and defined look that they have now. Even then, the initial published ones were probably made after dozens of conceptual drafts. For those interested in a comic strip creation process, the first comic strip that you see on PsyZoo's homepage...is the first PsyZoo comic strip ever. The second one is the second one and so on.

Something very interesting is that I've received completely opposite feedback comments for the same comic strips. Some qualified it as the "Best Comic Strip Ever" while some others said it as the "Worst Ever". I expect that most readers will find their spot between these two extremes (wise guess isn't it ;-). I suppose it is most likely a question of perspective. If you are looking for a visually delightful, polished and well drawn comic strip then PsyZoo, at least at this stage, is certainly not for you.

PsyZoo is more of a comic strip creation journey for now than an official and polished piece of art.
